How this tool changes learning in a way that isn't possible without technology
This is used as a beginning notetaking assignment to be used when outlining the chapter on stages of child development.

Without technology, kids cringe at the thought of notetaking, so this allows them to do it in a fun way, while also helping to keep things very organized for them.
This is to be used when they are going through each individual stage of child development. They can each create one stage and then collectively share them as a class.
Powtoon
It allows them to actually animate and create a cartoon that is both fun to make and fun to watch. The creation of this product allows them to not only understand the stages but to actually think about what happens during these stages and model them for their classmates to see.
This is to be used after taking home the mechanical baby and to reflect upon their experiences and communicate them with their fellow students.
This weekend I spent time taking care of the mechanical baby from school. It was an interesting weekend, as I had to always be prepared for anything. When it was activated at 6, it automatically started crying. Everytime it cried throughout the weekend, I had to figure out what it needed, whether it was to be rocked, fed, changed, or burped. It was an exhausting experience! We went to dinner on Friday night and it cried at the restaurant. That was very frustrating. After we got home, I decided to watch a movie in my room, but didn’t get through it because the baby kept needing attention. I also got very little sleep any of the nights that the baby was at my house. It was very eye opening on the amount of time that real babies will require. I’m definitely in no hurry to have kids! It was a relief on Monday morning to be able to give the baby back to my teacher.
It allows for easy sharing with others in a way that pen and paper simply can't. They are able to document their experiences and reflect upon them, whereas pen and paper would require many more steps to communicate those thoughts with as many people as a blog can reach.
This is a website that saves different articles and diagrams. For this lesson is to be used in their research of their different stages of development. The downfall is that to embed it has to be exported into a different format, although it does still have the correct links listed.
It allows for quick organization of websites and diagrams that would otherwise be prohibitively time consuming. It is an easy way to save useful articles and diagrams.
This is a website that the students will take review quizzes on. They can use it to create their own quizzes to assign to each other or they can take quizzes that I set for them.
Classmarker
It is interactive and gives them immediate feedback, that paper and pen quizzes will not be able to do. Getting that immediate feedback helps them to get immediate reinforcement.
This website is for the students to take a topic from the chapter, Spanking, and research and debate both sides. After researching spanking, they are to comment their ideas onto the main idea of this debate.
